Signs of the Apocalypse 2: Unproductive Produce

I found this gem taped up on the smudged glass door of one of my 400 neighborhood bodegas.


This sets up two potential problematic situations:

1. The last time the bodega bothered following the Greengrocer Code of Conduct was almost 5 years ago. I'm all for independent spirits - but perhaps this was a code not meant to be deviated from.

2. New York State stopped caring about the conduct of Greengrocers back in 2004.

I'm not sure which is the worse alternative. But either way, how can you own a bodega and walk through your door every day, see this sign up there, and just leave it? Seriously. Take it down. Please?
