Okay, I'll admit it. There is NOTHING grammatically wrong with this sign. No. It's far worse than grammar or syntax. This is like comparing a punch in the face to a stabbing in a dark alley.
The Upper East Side Cold Stone Creamery is leaving! WHAT!? This is horrible. Nay, beyond horrible. It is an insult to the Upper East Side, and a loss on par with the death of a beloved family member.
Sure they say they are "moving" but a chain food server doesn't "move". It CLOSES. Another might be opening, but that is not THIS Cold Stones. And what the hell are we Upper East Siders supposed to do now? All we have is Tasti D-Lite and Pinkberry. We don't even have a proper Red Mango.
When my cousin, Justin Plus One co-blogger first told me of this, you'd think that a member of our family had passed away. Oh the nights we had at Cold Stone Creamery. The high fat, ridiculously caloried treats that they provided us.
This is another reason why I am revolting against the Upper East Side. As the 2nd avenue subway slowly works its way down through our neighborhood, all the businesses are closing for fear of loss of patrons. I've been to the 90s on 2nd avenue. I've seen what that 2 subway construction has done. This will be like a Berlin wall, separating those east of 2nd from those to the west.
And we won't even have a Cold Stone to comfort us as we lose contact with the rest of Manhattan.
