BITES + BOOZE: Jason's Cafe Mocha Martini

Saturdays at Justin + 6 are Bites + Booze with our own answer to Paula Deen (minus the diabetes and obesity): our gorgeous gay southern belle, Jason Elliott

Want to share a recipe for him to feature? Feel free to tell him!

What’s the best part about healing from pneumonia? Being able to drink again, DUH! This week, I am breaking a cardinal rule of mine and sipping from a martini glass. Why would I do such a thing? Because I simply cannot turn down a Cafe Mocha Martini!

What you will need:

1.5 oz. Vanilla vodka

1.5 oz. Bailey’s Irish Crème

1.5 oz. Kahluá

2-4 oz. Heavy cream

Chocolate syrup

What you will do:

Place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice. Then, shake, shake, shake. Shake, shake, shake. Shake your booty (and the cocktail shaker too)! Serve in a chilled martini glass rimmed in chocolate and coffee grounds and jazzed up with swirls of chocolate syrup.

Watch it:

This delicious cream-based cocktail is perfect for fancying up your next party, providing an alternative to a heavy dessert, or just giving you a reason to drink! It isn’t strong on the coffee flavor, but if Irish crème isn’t really your thing, you may not enjoy this drink as much as I do.

Alas, I love it and I hope you will give it a shot… or two… or three…. of Kahulá, Bailey’s, and vanilla vodka!

So now, we have had bites and booze. Next week, we will find a creative way to bite booze. What? Mmmmmm, I smell a booze cake coming!

Yes, I said I rimmed the martini glass,
Jason
