While most mortals may never have the chance to build an entirely designer filled closet, we can bridge the gap between our simple selves and premium brands through their luxurious fragrances.
I believe that scent can evoke many things such as memories, places, and even feelings. Have you ever smelled something and it brought you back to a place you had once been? I keep a pillow from my grandmother than I’ll smell from time to time to remind me of her. It may sound odd, but the smell of patchouli and olive oil brings me back to a time when I was young, sitting in her living room watching cartoons while filling myself with marble pound cake and ice cold milk.
When choosing a scent it is important that it says something about you. If you’re a macho, rough and tough kind of guy, I’m sure you probably don’t want to smell like roses. Perhaps you’d like a musky and natural scent that tells others you’re masculine and connected to nature. Whatever it may be, pick a scent that isn’t overpowering, like Fierce by Abercrombie & Fitch, otherwise you’ll subject those around you to a terrible headache and you’ll forever be remembered as the guy who smelled like puberty.
In my own collection I have roughly thirty scents that I go between depending on season and occasion. Here is a sampling of some of my favorite scents that are perfect for any season, day or night.
Acqua di Gio | Giorgio Armani: Modern, masculine, and fresh. This also happens to be the best selling male fragrance of all time.
Fuel For Life | Diesel: Classic and sophisticated with an unexpected twist. This is my everyday scent.
Le Male | Jean Paul Gautier: Forbidden, indulgent, yet understated. The bottle excites me.
Light Blue | Dolce & Gabbana: Confident, mysterious, and sensual. I like to wear this when out for a night on the town.
Spicebomb| Viktor & Rolf: Explosive, addictive, and seductive. A personal favorite of mine.
Fame | Lady Gaga: Fabulous, empowering, and inexplicable. Need I say more?
